ChatGPT video generator: connect Dora in 3 steps

Short answer: ChatGPT cannot make videos on its own since Sora closed, but it can with a video plugin. Add Dora AI Video from ChatGPT's plugin directory, sign in to Dora once, then type @Dora AI Video and describe the clip. The video comes back in the chat in about two minutes, and an image in about one.

Step 1: find Dora AI Video in ChatGPT

Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar and search for "Dora", or open Dora AI Video in ChatGPT directly. Select Install plugin. Once it is installed the buttons read Manage and Try in chat.

Step 2: sign in to Dora once

The first time you use it, ChatGPT asks you to connect your Dora account. Sign in with Google, Apple or email on doravideo.com and you return to the chat. You only do this once: the same account works in the Dora iPhone app and at doravideo.com, and everything you make lands in your gallery.

Step 3: ask for the video in normal words

Select Try in chat, or type @ and pick Dora AI Video, then describe what you want. Attach a photo if you want it to move. Add "show me the cost first" if you want to approve the coins before it starts.

Unless you say otherwise, Dora uses Seedance 2 Mini, vertical, 8 seconds at 480p, which costs 31 coins; a 4-second clip costs 16. You can ask for horizontal or square, another model from the model list, or the same character across several clips.

Your ChatGPT plan does not pay for the video: Dora does the work and uses coins from your Dora account. Dora Pro is $2.99 for the first week, then $4.99 a week, or $119.99 a year, with 150 coins every week on both. Top-up packs are there if you need more.
