Seedance 1.5 Pro is retired: how Seedance 2 Mini compares
In Dora, Seedance 2 Mini replaced Seedance 1.5 Pro.
Short answer: Seedance 1.5 Pro was retired by Kie.ai on October 25, 2026 at 12:24 UTC, and calls to it now fail. Seedance 2 Mini is the closest replacement: on the same prompt it kept the selfie framing and the face just as well, costs about $0.019 per second against $0.035, and includes sound. What you lose is 1080p and the second (last-frame) image: Seedance 2 Mini goes up to 720p and takes one photo.
Seedance 1.5 Pro is on the far left, Seedance 2 Mini fourth. Same prompt and reference photo for all five models.

If you used Seedance 1.5 Pro
- In Dora: nothing to do. Requests for Seedance 1.5 Pro (from the app, the web, ChatGPT or Claude) now go to Seedance 2 Mini. A 4-second clip at 480p is 16 coins and 8 seconds is 31.
- Through an API: switch the model name to Seedance 2 Mini. If you relied on 1080p or a last frame, you need another model; see the other budget models we tested.
