Seedance 2 Mini replaced SeeDance 1.5 Pro, which its provider retired on October 25, 2026; requests for 1.5 Pro in Dora now go to Mini. In a same-prompt test of five budget models it kept the selfie framing and the face from the reference photo, at about the same price per second as Veo 3.1 Lite (see the test on the blog: /blog/cheap-ai-video-models-same-prompt-test).

How to use Seedance 2 Mini on Dora

On the web

Open Create. Seedance 2 Mini is already chosen, because it is the default video model. Add a photo if you want it as the first frame, write what should happen, pick the shape and the length, and tap Generate.

On iPhone

In the Dora app, tap the Generate button in the middle of the tab bar, then the AI Model card, and choose Seedance 2 Mini. Version 1.4.2, on the App Store on November 2, 2026, still lists it as SeeDance 1.5 Pro: that option runs Seedance 2 Mini. Add a photo or leave it as text only, write the prompt and tap Generate.

Seedance 2 Mini is a video model from ByteDance and the lightest of the Seedance 2 models in Dora, next to Seedance 2 and Seedance 2 Fast. It makes a clip from a text prompt or from one photo, with or without sound, and it is the video model Dora uses unless you choose another.

Can Seedance 2 Mini turn a photo into a video?

Yes. Add one photo and it becomes the first frame of the clip; the prompt says what moves. You can also leave the photo out and describe the whole scene.

How long are the clips, and in what sizes?

4, 8 or 12 seconds, at 480p or 720p, in 9:16, 16:9, 3:4, 4:3, 1:1 or 21:9. Use 480p to try ideas and 720p for the version you post.

Does Seedance 2 Mini make sound?
