Seedance 2 Mini vs Veo 3.1 vs Kling, on the same photo
These four clips come from our 8-model test, generated through Dora on October 31, 2026. Veo left Dora on November 2, 2026; Seedance 2 Mini is Dora's default video model.
Short answer: for the price, Seedance 2 Mini gave the most usable clip: about $0.02 per second, the paw up and the face close to the photo. Kling 4.0 was the steadiest and sharpest, at about seven times the price per second. Veo 3.1 Lite gave the longest clip for the money but changed an object in the scene, and Veo 3.1 Fast moved the camera far more than we asked.
How we tested
- One photo of a kitten and one prompt asking for a slow push-in and the kitten raising a paw toward the window.
- First take only. No re-rolls and no editing.
- Each model at its own settings, so lengths run from 4 to 8 seconds and sizes from about 480p to 720p. Compare the price per second, not the length.
- Prices are what each clip cost on October 31, 2026, at the API price of Kie.ai, the provider Dora uses (1 credit = $0.005).

Which one to pick
- Trying ideas, or making many clips: Seedance 2 Mini. It costs about the same per second as Veo 3.1 Lite and kept the scene intact.
- A clip you will post and the budget allows: Kling 4.0, for the sharpest frame. Ask for movement early in the prompt, because it waited until the last second here.
- Veo 3.1: Lite is cheap per second but check the objects in the scene; Fast follows camera directions loosely. Neither is in Dora any more.

In our test, Seedance 2 Mini kept the scene closer to the photo than both Veo 3.1 versions, at about the same price per second as Veo 3.1 Lite. Veo 3.1 gave longer, 720p clips.
Is Kling worth the higher price?
Kling 4.0 gave the sharpest and steadiest clip, at about seven times the price per second of Seedance 2 Mini. It is worth it for a clip you will post, less so for trying ideas.
Can I use Veo 3.1 in Dora?
No. Veo left Dora on November 2, 2026. Seedance 2 Mini is the default video model, and Dora also has Kling and Grok models.
